The dust has settled on Bar Convent Brooklyn 2023, where once again, we had the wonderful opportunity to showcase our extensive range of exceptional soft drinks and tonics to guests across the industry alongside our team in the US. We also highlighted our remarkable Franklin & Sons mixers in a host of exciting cocktails that were available for sampling at our stand, though just in case you weren’t able to be there, they can all be found listed below.
This year, we went even bigger with David and James taking centre stage to host an engaging and insightful seminar focused on the enduring relevance of spritz cocktails and the ways in which we can unlock remarkable moments in the world of drinks, both as guests and operators.
The event was a remarkable celebration of creativity, flavor exploration and the boundless possibilities of cocktails, an occasion that we were thrilled to be a part of alongside our industry peers and heroes.
Here are the recipes we showcased:
Smoked Rhubarb Daisy
Bright, smoky and elegant, ignite your taste buds with our exceptional Smoked Rhubarb Daisy! This effervescent gin serve blends tangy yet sweet rhubarb cordial, zesty citrus and Franklin & Sons Sparkling Pink Grapefruit behind a backdrop of light smoke, harmonising to quench thirst and excite the senses.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.7oz Martin Millers Gin
- 0.7oz Rhubarb Cordial
- 0.35oz Lapsang-infused Agave Nectar
- 0.35oz Lime juice
- Topped with Franklin & Sons Sparkling Pink Grapefruit
- Grapefruit, to garnish
METHOD
To a highball glass, add Martin Millers Gin, rhubarb cordial, lapsang-infused agave nectar, lime juice and Franklin & Sons Sparkling Pink Grapefruit, before gently adding ice. Top with more of the mixer if needed, gently stir and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
Grange Water
Experience a tantalizing burst of flavors with our Grange Water. This blanco tequila serve uses malic acid solution instead of lime juice to create a more sustainable twist on the Texas staple, Ranch Water, without compromising on flavour. Add the tropical notes of our Sparkling Guava & Lime and you have a refreshing and vibrant serve that is perfectly balanced, easy to make and an embodiment of the summer.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.7oz Tequila
- 0.35oz Malic Acid Solution
- Top with Franklin & Sons Sparkling Guava & Lime
- Lime Wheel, to garnish
METHOD
Add the tequila, malic acid solution and Franklin & Sons Sparkling Guava & Lime to a highball glass and gently add ice. Top with the mixer if required and stir lightly before garnishing with a lime wheel.
Port & Corn Spritz
Grain meets vine in our Port & Corn Spritz, a carefully crafted cocktail that challenges conventions, harmoniously blending Yellow Rose Bourbon, White Port, lemon juice and Franklin & Sons Sparkling Mandarin & Ginger to awaken your palate and keep you coming back for more.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.35oz Yellow Rose Bourbon
- 0.7oz White Port
- 0.7oz Lemon Juice
- 0.35oz Sugar Syrup
- Top with Franklin & Sons Sparkling Mandarin & Ginger
- Lemon twist, to garnish
METHOD
To a wine or highball glass, add Yellow Rose Bourbon, White Port, lemon juice and sugar syrup, alongside Franklin & Sons Sparkling Mandarin & Ginger. Gently add ice and top with the mixer if needed, before stirring lightly and garnishing with a twist of lemon.
Banana & Coffee Highball
Discover the captivating flavours of the Banana & Coffee Highball, a sophisticated no and low cocktail that is complex, sweet, herbaceous, and refreshing. Perfect for summer sipping and an ideal challenge to the notion that Tonic Water is a product made solely as mixer for Gin or Vodka.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.7oz Feragaia
- 0.7oz Cold Brew Coffee
- 0.35oz Banana Syrup
- 0.35oz Chicory Coffee Reduction
- Top with Franklin & Sons Premium Light Tonic Water with Quinine
- Dehydrated Banana Chip, to garnish
METHOD
Add Feragaia, your preferred cold brew coffee, banana syrup and chicory coffee reduction to a glass alongside Franklin & Sons Premium Light Tonic Water with Quinine. Gently add ice and top with the tonic if required, before stirring lightly and garnishing with a dehydrated banana chip.
Paloma
This tequila classic gets a Franklin & Sons twist with our Sparkling Pink Grapefruit. Your favourite reposado tequila meets the sharp vibrancy of lime juice, which is then balanced by the Sparkling Pink Grapefruit and sweet agave nectar to truly deliver summer in a glass.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.7oz Tequila
- 0.35oz Agave Nectar
- 0.35oz Lime Juice
- Top with Franklin & Sons Sparkling Pink Grapefruit
- Grapefruit Wedge, to garnish
- Salt, to garnish (optional)
METHOD
Add your preferred reposado tequila to a highball glass alongside agave nectar, lime juice and Franklin & Sons Sparkling Pink Grapefruit and gently add ice. Top with the mixer if required and stir gently, before garnish with a grapefruit wedge. As an optional addition, rim with highball glass with lime juice and salt before adding your ingredients.
